Discover what you can and cannot eat to rid yourself of this haunting disease
Acne is one of the most common skin problems among teenagers and adults mainly due to; an imbalance and change in hormone levels, the contraceptive pill, DNA and oily make-up. Nutritionists claim that a balanced diet can help acne sufferers.
A bad diet is said to be detrimental to your skin. Individuals who enrich their diet with fruits and veggies tend to have a clearer complexion than those who consume mostly meat, fats, sugars and processed foods. Specialist also recommend you stay away from chocolate and include 30g of fiber each day to help regulate your intestine and allow it to get rid of harmful toxins before they reach your skin’s surface.
Salt is also a major acne no-no (followed by dairy products) as they stimulate acne production. It is important for acne sufferers to stick to foods that contain vitamins A, E, B6 and omega-3 fatty acids that may alleviate them from this disease.
