Stretch marks
Have you noticed those annoying marks imprinted on the skin after losing weight? Find out what they are all about and how to manage them
Stretch marks are scarring of the skin which appear when the muscles or the fat underneath the skin grows rapidly. Hormones, genetic factors, and marked weight changes (e.g pregnancy) are the most common causes. If the stretch marks are red, then this means that they are still developing.

On the other hand, when the stretch marks are white, it means that they are at least a year old. Unfortunately they respond poorly to therapy and surgical treatment seems to be the only way to improve the skin’s appearance.

There is a great range of products available for you to apply on red stretch marks. You may notice a difference
but don’t expect to see a miracle. Microdermabrasion, peeling and laser treatments are also an option. IPL lasers reduce redness however fractional lasers give the best results.
