Sweeten-up Your Autumn
Should sweets be allowed in autumn? How much is too much?
Along with the weather change in autumn you also undergo a lifestyle change. Less time is spent outdoors and more indoors. Evening gatherings either by the fire or in front of the telly become a must. This lifestyle change is also commonly associated with a greater want to overindulge in desserts. Consuming desserts in general is not a bad thing and should not be forbidden in any diet however as with everything in life it should be done in moderation and it’s the quantity and frequency of consumption that makes all the difference.
Aim to eat desserts a max of 1-2 times per week.
Alternatively you can also improvise and create home-made healthy desserts such as oven-baked apples with cinnamon and ½ tsp. sugar.
