Zumba is a fun combination of Latin dance and aerobic exercise resulting in a full‐body workout program. First inspired in the early 1990s, Zumba nowadays numbers more than 11 million people who have participated in Zumba lessons, in more than 100 countries.

The Routine
A general cardio dance workout usually includes a warm-up period with stretches (~10 min), a main-core workout with or without resistance (~40 min) and a cooling down period (~10 min). In addition to the wide range of DVDs that could assist you, you can also benefit from using inexpensive equipment such as a floor exercise mat, an instability ball and dumbbells that will allow your workout to be more fascinating and challenging from home.

Besides exercising in a party atmosphere, an average person (approximately 70 kg) can burn from 300 until 500 calories in one hour depending on the intensity imposed and primarily targeting fats.
