Foods to avoid during Velashape Treatment
Nutritional guidelines for the application of the Velashape or Endermologie treatment
We advise that you steer away from large salt quantities. Excess salt can trigger fluid retention and therefore tamper with the final results of the Velashape treatment. At times you may feel that if you don’t add salt to your food or salad you don’t end up consuming sufficient amounts of it. Keep note that there are some hidden sources of salt such as cheese, sausages, smoked or canned fish, processed food, soups and sauces that are not prepared at home, canned vegetables and tomato juices, cookies, pastries, margarine, chocolate drinks and fast food. Cookies, bread and cereals are foods that are difficult to suspect that they contain added salt that could affect your diet. Moreover, there are certain breakfast cereals that reach 1000 mg of sodium per 100 g or more, or 2 slices of white bread from the oven may contain 400-500 mg, whereby the recommendation for the general population is 2300 mg of sodium a day. Avoid these hidden sources of salt by choosing cheese with less salt, such as cottage and ricotta, and focusing on eating good sources of potassium, such as fruits, vegetables and legumes.

The root causes of fat deposition are processed carbohydrates such as refined flour, sugar and processed rice. These are all foods that can increase insulin secretion and trigger fat deposition, even in people with a healthy and normal body weight, and consequently it may increase the appearance of cellulite. Prefer unprocessed forms of such foods such as whole-wheat bread and brown rice, and avoid foods such as pastries, cookies, cakes, white bread, sweets, and fast food.
